School Colors Shine

During basketball season last year, Mission High School hosted a Special Olympics basketball competition, which featured a Unified exhibition game with the Best Buddies club on their campus. Mission HS Special Olympics athletes had never worn the school’s official uniforms because they had never played on the junior varsity or varsity teams. But because the school hosted a basketball tournament, these Special Olympics student-athletes got to don their school colors – and proudly!

Do you remember the first time you wore your school colors?

One of the athletes kept telling his teacher/coach that he was going to take the jersey home with him. He even just kept saying, “Thank you!” Because he didn’t want to hear that he couldn’t take it off. You have got to love the school spirit and sense of self pride this Schools Partnership Program event instilled!

  1. Im impressed, I have to admit. Really seldom do I come across a blog thats equally educative and enjoyable, and without a doubt, you have reach the claw on the go. Your concept is excellent; the issue is something which not enough people are speaking intelligently about. I am very happy i stumbled across this specific in my hunt for something relating to this.
