San Francisco Soccer Wraps Up on a High Note

The coldest winter Mark Twain ever experienced was a summer in San Francisco, but the City by the Bay smiled on Special Olympics last week with a rare warm and sunny day for the last soccer tournament of the fall for student-athletes in the 415.

San Francisco’s Marina Middle School and Presidio Middle School headed to the Hamilton Rec Center for some soccer. It was Marina’s first time participating in a Schools Partnership Program tournament – so it was an especially exciting day for those special education student-athletes!

Things got underway with Opening Ceremonies:

Then the two schools squared off for a pair of games. Each school earned bragging rights, for Marina won one match and Presidio claimed the other.

The day closed with ribbons for all!

Thanks to Marina and Presidio for participating in soccer this fall – can’t wait to see you for basketball in the winter!
