Happy International Persons With Disabilities Day!

Did you know that over one billion people – about 15 percent of the world’s population – live with some form of disability?

Today is International Persons With Disabilities Day, which was started by the United Nations in 1992. The day aims to promote an understanding of disability issues and mobilize support for the dignity, rights and well-being of persons with disabilities.

Anyone who attends a Schools Partnership Program event can see that anyone who has intellectual disabilities is no different than anyone else.

You can give the life-changing gift of sports to our special education student-athletes. Every online gift made through Dec. 31 will be matched dollar-for-dollar by the generous Special Olympics Northern California & Nevada Board of Directors.

Your $50 gift + $50 matching gift = 1 special education classroom sport season
