We are so excited that the third annual Bay Area Games are just a month away!
Who: More than 550 special education student-athletes from Alameda, Contra Costa, San Francisco and San Mateo counties along with the Tri-Valley area and 150 general education student peers
What: Track & field competition featuring new unified partner event, pairing special and general education students in contests
When: April 29 – Opening Ceremonies at 10 a.m.
Where: Acalanes High School – Lafayette, Calif.
Why: Bay Area Games is the culminating event of Special Olympics Northern California Schools Partnership Program. Over 550 student-athletes from around the Bay Area have been training for weeks with their classmates and peers for a chance to compete. For the first time there will be a unified partner competition, where students with and without disabilities come together as teammates, fostering communities of acceptance and inclusion for all. This educational program teaches everyone how to play unified to live unified!
